Who we are

What we collect
This site doesn't have user accounts for readers, comments, a newsletter or contact forms, and it doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies.
Like almost every website, the server keeps short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses and browser details, to keep the site running and secure. The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes these requests on our behalf.
YouTube videos
Some guides include videos from our YouTube channel, and the home page shows a video thumbnail loaded from YouTube. When you play an embedded video, YouTube (Google) may set cookies and collect information about you, as described in Google's privacy policy. If you'd rather not, watch the video on YouTube directly or skip it; every guide works without the video.
Links to other sites
Guides link to other websites, such as government programs and Cole's sister site, Sweet Commute. Their privacy policies apply once you're there.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page.
